Advanced WHEEL THROWING with JOTHAM HUNG

It’s Your Journey!

Explore the potential of ceramic processes to create uniquely expressive utilitarian forms. Make composite forms, throw smaller, larger, tighter or looser and learn about glaze layering and a personal work philosophy in this advanced class with accomplished local potter Jotham Hung:

“The reason I have a passion for making pottery is not just to make it, but to show the journey each piece has been through. I want to demonstrate how amazing the material clay is and how it interacts with different glazes, all of which have come from the earth. I want the person that comes in contact with my work to feel what I felt during the making process, the joy, the excitement, the sense of adventure, uncertainty, which feed into the mixed emotions that go through creating utilitarian functional pieces of work.”

Intermediate level throwing and glazing skills are prerequisite for this class.

Saturday, 10:00am – 12:00noon JOTHAM HUNG Start Date: 10/05/2019 Register
